LAHORE: Two of the Netherlands’ promising cricketers, Michael Levitt and Shariz Ahmad, have arrived in Pakistan to take part in a 10-day training program at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) under the Overseas Program. Their participation marks a significant step in international collaboration, as they prepare for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
The program is designed to sharpen skills and provide exposure to Pakistan’s elite coaching environment. The programme is to run for 10 days at the NCA. NCA coaches are working closely with both players, focusing on technical refinement and match readiness. The objective is to utilize Pakistan’s cricketing infrastructure and expertise as part of their World Cup preparations.
Levitt and Ahmad have already featured in a target match at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) ground, gaining valuable match practice. Their schedule also includes net sessions tailored to individual skill sets.
They target matches to simulate competitive scenarios. One-on-one sessions with NCA coaches for personalized guidance. The training program gained further spotlight as Babar Azam, Pakistan’s star batter, and Ahmed Daniyal also participated in the target match, offering the Dutch players a chance to test themselves against top-level opposition.
