KARACHI: Pakistan Army were crowned champions of the 15th National Women Softball Championship 2025 after edging out Pakistan WAPDA 8–7 in a nail-biting final held at the KMC Sports Complex, Kashmir Road. The seven-inning contest remained intense and thrilling until the very last moment.
Army secured their narrow win through disciplined scoring. Asia and Hina contributed 2 runs each, while Saima, Zahida, Mubashara, and Aiman added 1 run apiece, taking the team’s total to 8 runs.
Pakistan WAPDA fought fiercely until the final inning, with Ayesha and Iram scoring 2 runs each, and Madiha, Anila, and Sidra adding 1 run each to finish at 7 runs. Chief Guest Hassan Ashfaq, Managing Partner OHS Food Group of Companies, distributed prizes among the players. He praised the athletes, “The determination, professionalism, and talent displayed by Pakistan’s women athletes today is truly inspiring. Such events are essential for the growth of women’s sports in the country, and we will continue to support these initiatives at every level.”
Tehmina Asif, President Softball Federation of Pakistan, also appreciated the players’ performance, said , “Today’s final clearly shows that our women athletes possess the skill and potential to compete at international standards. The federation is committed to organizing more events and training programs nationwide to further promote women’s softball.”
Waseem Hashmi, Patron Softball Federation of Pakistan, was also present at the ceremony. He congratulated the organizers and athletes on the successful championship and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the development of women’s softball in Pakistan.
The ceremony was also attended by Ayesha Leena from PNSC, Haroon Qasim, Managing Director Pharma Evo, Naseem Khan, Secretary General Softball Federation of Pakistan, and Nayyab Jabeen, General Manager Essa Lab, who appreciated the excellent organization of the event and the outstanding performance of both finalist teams.
