54th National Day ceremony: UAE CG reaffirms commitment to strong ties with Pakistan

KARACHI: Consul General of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Karachi, Dr Bakheet Ateeq Ali Alayan Alremethi, has said that the UAE’s journey of friendship, cooperation and shared development with Pakistan would continue.

He made these remarks while addressing a grand ceremony held in Karachi to mark the 54th National Day of the UAE. The event was attended by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Karachi corps commander, DG Rangers Sindh, diplomats, consuls general of various countries, political leaders and prominent social figures.

The venue in Clifton was adorned with UAE flags and national colours, along with portraits of Emirati leaders. The Consul General and his wife hosted the ceremony and warmly welcomed the attendees. Emirati culture was showcased throughout the event, including traditional songs performed in honour of the National Day. The national anthems of the UAE and Pakistan were played at the start of the programme.

Consul General Alremethi congratulated the people of Pakistan and the Pakistani community living in the UAE on the occasion of UAE’s 54th National Day. He said he was proud that Pakistan was the first brotherly Islamic country to recognise the UAE after its formation.

Addressing the gathering, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal General Asim Munir, Pakistan was progressing rapidly. He added that just as Pakistan had prevailed over India in the battle, it would also defeat India economically with the cooperation of the UAE. He emphasised the vast potential for expanding bilateral trade.

Speaking to Geo News, Consul General Alremethi extended greetings to the president and prime minister of Pakistan and to Pakistanis living in the UAE on Eid Al Ittihad. He affirmed that the UAE holds deep affection for Pakistan and its people. He noted that bilateral relations were strengthening in investment and education, adding that both countries were focusing heavily on joint initiatives, especially in the field of artificial intelligence.
