RAWALPINDI: The 9th edition of joint military exercise, Warrior-IX, of Pakistan Army and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China has commenced. This exercise is in a series of bilateral counterterrorism exercises conducted annually between the two iron-clad brothers.According to ISPR, the exercise that began on Monday is focusing on counterterrorism operations, with the aim of enhancing interoperability, refining professional skills and exchanging best practices in modern warfare.
Corps Commander Mangla, Deputy Chief of Staff of Western Theatre Command of PLA Major General Bian Xiaoming and other senior military officials from both Pakistan and China attended the opening ceremony of the exercise that was held at the National Counter-Terrorism Center, Pabbi. In a related development, the participants of the Cambrian Patrol competition called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at the General Headquarters (GHQ).The COAS congratulated the team for their outstanding performance in one of the world’s toughest military endurance and leadership competitions. He commended the participants for demonstrating exceptional standards of physical endurance, tactical proficiency and exemplary team spirit, in keeping with the highest traditions of the Pakistan Army. The COAS appreciated the dedication and rigorous training undertaken by the team, noting that their success had brought pride to the nation and reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to excellence.
In a related development, Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the GHQ. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest were discussed, with particular focus on expanding Pakistan-Türkiye cooperation in the energy sector, strengthening bilateral ties and exploring avenues for strategic collaboration. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing partnership in areas of shared objectives and regional stability.
