PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday sought fresh replies from the relevant parties on a petition challenging the provincial government’s decision to withdraw security from former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Mahmood Khan.

The petition was heard by a bench comprising Justice Naeem Anwar and Justice Kamran Hayat Miankhel.Petitioner’s lawyer Shumail Butt argued that his client was a former CM of the province and his security had been withdrawn contrary to protocol.

He said the withdrawal of security has exposed him to risks, and it was the responsibility of the provincial government to provide security to such persons.

The counsel prayed the court to seek replies from the relevant secretaries.
