ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has convened a joint sitting of Parliament for today (Tuesday) at 11am.
According to a National Assembly Secretariat notification, the session has been summoned under Article 54(1) of the Constitution, which empowers the president to call a joint meeting of Parliament. During the joint session, the government is scheduled to legislate the pending bills that were passed by the National Assembly but not by the Senate in the constitutional time limit of 90 days and also those bills that were passed by the Senate and not by the National Assembly in the stipulated time.
