World Culture Festival 2025: Artists from 141 countries begin descending on Karachi

Hundreds of artists from 141 countries have started arriving in Karachi for the World Culture Festival, which is being organized under the Arts Council of Pakistan. 

The festival, which is the largest of its kind, will showcase films, theatre performances, music concerts, and art exhibitions, and will officially begin tomorrow.

According to Ahmed Shah, president of the Arts Council, the World Culture Festival 2025 will kick off on October 30 and will run for 39 days, concluding on December 7 at the Arts Council. A total of 141 countries will participate in this grand event, with artists from Africa (37), Asia (41), Europe (36), South America (11), North America (13), and Oceania (3) taking part.

The festival will feature 45 theatre performances, 60 music concerts, and 25 dance performances, as well as 6 exhibitions. Twenty-five international and 30 national painters will participate in the exhibitions, and there will be 25 training sessions and 15 talk shows.

More than 1,000 artists, including Pakistani performers, will take to the stage. Internationally renowned singers like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sajjad Ali, Akbar Khamiso Khan, Mai Dhai, Sanam Marvi, and Akhtar Chanal will also perform at the festival.

Last year, 42 countries participated in the festival, but this time, 141 countries will join to further enhance the cultural atmosphere of Karachi.

Countries such as Syria, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Italy, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Bahrain, Malaysia, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Cyprus, Myanmar, Singapore, Malta, Kosovo, Belarus, Greece, Finland, Morocco, Japan, Cameroon, Hong Kong, China, the UAE, Australia, New Zealand, Sudan, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Ethiopia, will participate in the event.
