DUHS, Larkana University VCs’ appointments okayed

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved the appointment of vice chancellors of Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) and University of Larkano, and for the appointment of VCs of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law (Szabul) and University of Sindh, he will conduct the candidates’ interviews himself.

Shah has also ordered reissuing the advertisement for the post of VC of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (SBBUVAS) due to the lack of security clearance of one candidate.

The CM has approved Dr Nazli Hussain, the first-ranked candidate of DUHS, for the VC post. She scored 74.8 per cent, while Dr Jahanara Hassan scored 70.33 per cent. Dr Syed Khalid Ashrafi scored 62.2 per cent, but his security clearance could not be obtained.

Dr Nek Muhammad Sheikh, the first-ranked candidate of Larkana University, was approved for the VC post. He scored 71.83 per cent. Dr Imamuddin Khoso scored 65.6 per cent, and Dr Syed Munir Ahmed Shah scored 64 per cent.

Due to the lack of intelligence clearance of Dr Parshottam Khatri, the first-ranked candidate of SBBUVAS, the advertisement for the post of VC will be reissued. The CM will conduct the candidates’ interviews himself for the appointment of VCs of Szabul and University of Sindh. The first-ranked candidate of Szabul is Justice Kausar Sultana, followed by Muhammad Shahid Shafiq, and then Dr Tehreem Farrukh. The first-ranked candidate of University of Sindh is Dr Fateh Muhammad Marri, followed by Dr Khalilur Rehman Kambati, and then Dr Tariq Rahim Soomro.
