Two sisters injured in Khudadad van fire die

Two sisters who were critically injured in a high-roof van fire incident near Khudadad Colony on Saturday succumbed to their injuries during treatment at the Burns Ward of Dr Ruth KM Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi on Sunday, according to rescue sources.

The deceased were identified as 18-year-old Areeba, daughter of Imran, and 13-year-old Nimra, daughter of Imran. Their bodies were shifted to the morgue after completing legal formalities, the sources added.

The fire had erupted in a hi-roof van near Allah Wali Biryani in Khudadad Colony at 4:04am on March 28. The vehicle was reportedly returning from a wedding ceremony when the blaze suddenly erupted. A total of nine people had suffered injuries as a result, the rescue officials said.
