ISLAMABAD: The federal officials have undergone a fresh round of appointments and transfers.
Waqaruddin Syed, a Grade-20 officer of Police Service of Pakistan and former Director General of National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), who was suspended over corruption allegations, has formally been declared an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) with effect from October 29, 2025. However, he will remain under suspension.
Abdul Hafeez Umrani, a Grade-20 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service who was awaiting posting, has been designated as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
Dr Muhammad Hafeez-ur-Rehman, Associate Professor at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Pattoki, has been appointed as Fisheries Development Commissioner in Ministry of Maritime Affairs.
Federal government has approved a one-year extension in deputation of Muhammad Amir Jan, Executive Director of National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC).
The extension will take effect from May 18, 2026, and he will continue to serve until either a regular appointment is made or a new officer assumes the position, whichever occurs first.
Afshan Sabir, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in Revenue Division, while Sadaqat Ali, also awaiting posting, has been appointed as Section Officer in Finance Division.
Kamran Khan, currently serving under Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has been appointed on a three-year deputation as Assistant Director (Surveillance) in Federal Directorate of Immunisation.
Government has also approved a further two-year extension in deputation of Section Officer Syed Asghar Ali in Commerce Division. His deputation has now been extended until June 1, 2028.
