ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Telenor Pakistan has formally amalgamated into Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), operating under Ufone 5G, with effect from July 2026.
The merger follows final statutory approval from the Islamabad High Court, concluding a regulatory process involving multiple institutions. With the development, Telenor Pakistan will cease to exist as a separate legal entity, with its operations, network infrastructure and customer base fully integrated into PTML.
The combined entity, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), is expected to benefit from an expanded network reach, a stronger spectrum portfolio and enhanced capacity to invest in next-generation connectivity and digital services.
PTCL President and CEO Hatem Bamatraf described the merger as a defining moment for the company and the wider telecom industry. He thanked the government and relevant institutions for their support, and acknowledged customers and employees of both Ufone and Telenor Pakistan for their role in enabling the transition. He said the merged company aims to set a new benchmark for digital services in Pakistan.
Ufone 5G said it will ensure continuity of service for both Ufone and former Telenor customers during the integration process, with improved connectivity and access to enhanced digital offerings.
