ISLAMABAD: The United Kingdom’s Special Representative in Afghanistan has stated that the Fitna al-Khawarij is a terrorist group and is receiving support from within Afghanistan.

SpeakiAng to an Afghan TV channel, the UK’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Richard Lindsay, said Fitna al-Khawarij has many family connections and sources of support in the tribal border regions.

He said that Afghanistan has become a safe haven for terrorists running away from security operations in Pakistan.

This is part of global acknowledgment of Afghan Taliban regime’s support for Fitna al-Khawarij carrying out terrorism against Pakistan.

He said authorities of the Taliban regime in Kabul and Kandahar need to take decisive action against Fitna al-Khawarij.

To a question as to why there is support for Fitna al-Khawarij from Afghan Taliban, the UK Representative said the question should be asked from the Afghan Taliban. Training camps for Fitna al-Khawarij exist in Afghanistan, where weapons are being used and financial assistance is being provided. He went on to say that due to the instability created by Fitna al-Khawarij in the region, Pakistan has been responding with military measures. According to defense analysts, the presence of terrorist groups and their networks in Afghanistan continues to pose a serious threat to regional security. Financial support, training, and the supply of weapons to terrorists ultimately lead to military operations such as Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq.
