LAHORE: The Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed Group achieved an historic clean sweep in the Lahore Region Cricket Association (LRCA) elections, winning all 15 seats across the City, Model Town, Ravi, Cantt and Shalimar zones to secure full control of the region’s cricket administration.
The decisive victory was sealed in the final phase when the group captured the three remaining seats in the Shalimar Zone, formalising a 15-0 whitewash. Official results released by Abid Hussain, Manager of Cricket Operations LRCA, showed Muhammad Arshad elected president of the Shalimar Zone with 19–10, Muhammad Khurshid winning the secretary’s post by the same margin, and Asif Aziz taking the treasurer’s slot 18–11.
The group’s momentum had been established earlier with commanding wins in the Ravi Zone, where candidates swept the three posts by wide margins: Muhammad Ijaz Butt (President) 22–5, Muhammad Naseer Shahzad (Secretary) 23–4, and Malik Zahid Mahmood (Treasurer) 19–8.
Kh Nadeem Group candidates had earlier emerged elected unopposed on three seats in City Zone and two seats of Model Town Zone. Model Town’s third seat was also by Afzaal in Wednesday’s elections.
Victories in the Cantt Zone followed, with Mashhood Hussain Shirazi (President) 22–16, Mirza Azmat Baig (Secretary) 23–15, and Khaliq Hussain Lodhi (Treasurer) posting a landslide 25–13 result.
