Pakistan off to a winning start in Asian Doubles Squash

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan made a promising start to their campaign in the 3rd Asian Doubles Squash Championships 2026 in Sarawak, Malaysia, with both national pairs registering victories in their opening pool matches.

The experienced duo of Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal remained unbeaten after securing two successive wins to strengthen their chances of progressing to the knockout stage. In their latest outing, Noor and Nasir outclassed Singapore’s Samuel Quek Wei Yi and Justin Yap in straight games, winning 11-1, 11-8 in a one-sided contest.

Pakistan’s second pair, comprising Muhammad Hamza Khan and Muhammad Asim Khan, began their campaign on a winning note but suffered a surprise defeat in their second pool match against Singapore’s Aaron

Liang and Jerome Aw Jin Ming. The Singaporean duo prevailed 11-8, 11-7 to hand the Pakistanis their first loss of the championship.

Results:

Noor Zaman/Nasir Iqbal beat Samuel Quek Wei Yi/Justin Yap (Singapore) 2-0 (11-1, 11-8). Muhammad Hamza Khan/Muhammad Asim Khan lost to Aaron Liang/Jerome Aw Jin Ming (Singapore) 0-2 (8-11, 7-11).
