MIRUPR: An important meeting of the Judicial Policy Making Committee of Azad Jammu and Kashmir was held here on June 15.

The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the Judicial Policy Making Committee and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan. Committee members Justice Raza Ali Khan, Senior Judge of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Chief Justice of the High Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Justice Sardar Liaqat Hussain, attended the meeting, while Justice Syed Shahbaz Rizvi, a member of the committee, joined via telephone.

The meeting conducted a detailed review of judicial affairs and administrative matters. The committee decided that judicial proceedings on Fridays, which had been suspended under previous austerity measures, would be restored with immediate effect. It was also decided to end the Saturday holiday in subordinate courts, after which regular court proceedings would continue under the previous system. The meeting emphasised the need to make the judicial system more active and effective to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of justice to the public.
