IBA Karachi holds talks with senior academics from Bangladesh

KARACHI: The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi hosted a delegation of senior academics from Bangladesh on Monday for discussions on higher education cooperation, institutional exchange and potential areas of collaboration, a statement said.

The delegation included vice chancellors, deans, heads of departments, directors and faculty members from several Bangladeshi universities, including the University of Dhaka, University of Rajshahi, Chittagong University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Jahangirnagar University, North South University, BRAC University, Asian University of Bangladesh and Southeast University.

The programme began with a welcome address by IBA Karachi Executive Director Dr S Akbar Zaidi, followed by introductions and discussions on issues of mutual interest in higher education.

According to IBA, the engagement focused on academic linkages, the exchange of institutional experiences and opportunities for future cooperation between the business school and higher education institutions in Bangladesh.

Officials from Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC), including Project Director Jehanzeb Khan and Account Officer Syed Mehboob Ali Shah, also attended the session, alongside representatives from the HEC Regional Centre Karachi.The visit formed part of broader academic engagement efforts aimed at promoting dialogue and cooperation among higher education institutions in South Asia, IBA said.
