BANNU: Four persons, including two women, were killed and 16 others injured after rain, windstorms and hailstorms triggered wall collapses in different parts of Bannu district, rescue officials said on Friday.

Rescue 1122 officials said the casualties occurred when walls collapsed at multiple locations amid the intense weather conditions. Rescue teams responded promptly and shifted all 16 injured persons to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Bannu, where they are receiving medical treatment.

The storm caused widespread damage across the district, with reports of collapsed houses, boundary walls and uprooted trees. The severe weather also disrupted the electricity supply in several areas.

Following the incident, the district administration declared an emergency in all government hospitals and directed doctors and medical staff to remain on high alert. Special wards have been established at DHQ Hospital Bannu to accommodate and treat the injured.
