The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi observed the 37th anniversary of the death of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, and to pay tribute to the assassinated supreme leader of Iran Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the martyrs of the recent war.
Prominent Shia and Sunni scholars, jurists, academicians, media persons, and heads and members of various religious and political parties participated in the event. Iranian Consul General in Karachi Akbar Eissazadeh welcomed the guests and said Imam Khomeini’s movement had been derived from the pure teachings of the Holy Quran, the Prophetic life and the Alawi guardianship. He said freedom, independence, protection of national interests and national sovereignty are the important foundations of this movement.
He said Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, as the architect of the Islamic Revolution, protected the revolution amidst political, security, cultural and economic storms around the world, and brought this revolution to its peak through national strength and confidence, resistance and economic development.
Eissazadeh described the unity and national solidarity of the Iranian nation in the face of the recent aggression of the US and Israel as a symbol of the thought of the founder of the revolution.
He said that the continuous presence of the Iranian nation in the field is a balm for the hearts of all of us, which were wounded due to the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei. Chairman of the National Solidarity Council of Pakistan Sahibzada Abul-Khair Zubair said that the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the voice of all Muslims around the world against its enemy is in fact a manifestation of inter-Muslim unity, and is derived from the profound and constructive thoughts of Imam Khomeini.
He said that the United States has made many attempts to damage the unity of the Iranian nation, but the Iranian nation has thwarted this conspiracy of the enemy. He said that this unity was the result of the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and it would remain permanent.
Sindh High Court Bar Association President Haseeb Jamali said the Iranian nation has shown insight in recent days, and has promoted national unity and harmony by keeping in mind the teachings and thoughts of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and as a result, all the conspiracies of the enemies have been drowned in the Strait of Hormuz.
He said the enemy spent millions of dollars to create division between the people and the Iranian leadership, but they could not create even the slightest rift between the people and the Iranian leadership.
He was of the view that Ayatollah Khamenei emphasised a lot on the self-reliance of the Iranian nation, and today’s all-round development of Iran is a sign that the Iranian nation has accepted his advice wholeheartedly.
Karachi’s prominent Shia scholar Allama Syed Razi Jafar Naqvi said that the path of Imam Khomeini is the path of resistance and perseverance. He said that today the world’s perception of Iran has changed, and this is the result of the perseverance and resistance that the Iranian nation has learned from Imam Khomeini.
He referred to the famous fatwa of the supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution regarding the insult of the sanctities of different Islamic sects, and called it a fruitful step towards strengthening the foundations of unity among Muslims.
Member National Assembly Syed Hafizuddin, Karachi Council for Foreign Relations’ Nadira Panjwani, former emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Merajul Huda Siddiqui and other speakers also spoke on the occasion and paid tribute to the efforts of Ayatollah Khamenei in making the Islamic Revolution a tree.
