LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday said the province has entered the era of “one-stop agriculture input markets”, under which farmers are being provided with all essential agricultural services and facilities under one roof near their villages for the first time.
According to an official statement, four Model Agriculture Malls have been established in Punjab, while the chief minister has directed authorities to take immediate steps for setting up similar facilities in 10 more districts. The Model Agriculture Malls in Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal and Sargodha are fully operational, offering agricultural inputs, consultation with agricultural experts and a range of other services for farmers. Farmers will also be able to rent modern agricultural machinery from the malls.
The statement said the malls would also be established in Faisalabad, Jhang, Okara and Khanewal, while similar projects are planned for Rajanpur, Vehari, Rahim Yar Khan, Attock and Mianwali.
