Govt, PPP budget talks likely today

ISLAMABAD: The budget talks between the federal government and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is likely to be held today (Sunday), as the two sides are continuing consultations on key fiscal matters ahead of the presentation of the federal budget.

According to sources, the internal consultative meeting of the PPP will be held prior to the budget meeting with the government team with President Asif Ali Zardari will review the party’s strategy and discuss the government’s budget-related proposals.

The schedule for a meeting with the government’s negotiating team will be finalised following the PPP’s internal consultations.
