KARACHI: Prominent banker Sultan Ali Allana has been appointed as a trustee of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) Board of Trust, according to a statement from the institution on Thursday.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Board held in Karachi.Allana, who serves as chairman of the Board of Directors at HBL and is a director of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, has held senior positions in Pakistan’s financial sector for several decades. His career has included roles in banking and development finance, with involvement in both domestic and international institutions.
SIUT said the appointment is expected to support its governance and long-term planning as it seeks to expand healthcare services.Welcoming Allana to the Board, SIUT expressed confidence that his experience would contribute to the institution’s work in healthcare delivery, education and research.Founded over five decades ago, SIUT provides free medical treatment in urology and transplantation and has grown into one of Pakistan’s largest public healthcare institutions.
