STOCKHOLM: A Swedish member of parliament representing the far-right Sweden Democrats (SD), which is propping up the government, has resigned from his political posts following revelations he was being investigated for child porn, media reported Wednesday.
The revelation is viewed as a blow to the image of the party, which has long made the issue a political battle cry.
Swedish police were made aware of the alleged crimes via the US organisation National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), which sends tens of thousands of pieces of information to the police every year, according to public broadcaster SVT, which first reported on the case on Tuesday.
