Rapist fined Rs200,000

Rawalpindi:The Rawalpindi sessions court sentenced an accused named in the case of raping a 12-year-old boy to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs200,000 after he was found guilty.

The court also ordered the victim to pay Rs500,000 as compensation. The Ratta Amral police station had registered a case against the accused named Raheel in December 2023. The court sentenced the accused after the trial was completed on Tuesday.

On the other hand, District Bar Association Rawalpindi has granted lifetime membership to Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed. Sheikh Rashid had applied for the restoration of his membership in the bar through the chamber of his lawyer Sardar Abdul Raziq, which was approved by the bar.

On this occasion, he said that he is doing a wonderful thing in life, which he should have done long ago, although he should have obtained bar membership 50 years ago. He said that he will not do bar politics and will only sit and practice in Sardar Abdul Raziq’s chamber.
