CHARSADDA: Muslim Hands, a non-governmental welfare organisation, arranged the collective sacrifice of 200 animals during Eidul Azha with the support of Türkiye’s Diyanet Foundation and distributed the meat among poor, deserving and orphan families as well as flood-affected communities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A large-scale collective Qurbani programme was organised in Peshawar, where 200 animals were sacrificed. The meat was subsequently distributed among deserving families in Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera and other districts of the province to enable them to share in the festivities of Eid.

Speaking on the occasion, Muslim Hands regional head Rahimullah Khan said the organisation had successfully completed the project this year in collaboration with Türkiye’s Diyanet Foundation. He said more than 5,000 poor and deserving families across the province benefited from the programme, while orphaned children studying at educational institutions run by Muslim Hands were also provided sacrificial meat.

He said one of the key objectives of the initiative was to support families affected by floods and other natural disasters, many of whom continue to face serious economic challenges. The distribution of sacrificial meat, he added, was aimed at helping such households meet their nutritional needs and celebrate Eid with dignity. Rahimullah Khan said Muslim Hands had always remained committed to serving humanity and assisting vulnerable segments of society.
