RAWALPINDI: Former prime minister Imran Khan was unable to meet his wife or speak to his children by phone on Eid.
This time as well, Eid clothes could not be delivered to him in Adiala Jail. Eid clothes for his wife Bushra Bibi had already been delivered last Friday.
According to jail sources, the PTI founder and his wife spent Eidul Azha in their respective cells. Neither did anyone meet them nor were they allowed to meet each other.
On Eidul Fitr, Imran Khan had been allowed to speak to his sons on phone under court orders. However, on Eidul Azha, even that phone conversation could not take place.
On the occasion of Eid, new clothes for imprisoned PTI founder were not delivered to jail administration. During Eidul Fitr too, clothes could not be delivered to him.
Jail sources said unlike Imran Khan, Eid clothes for Bushra Bibi were delivered on time. Last Friday, Bushra Bibi’s two daughters personally handed over an Eid dress to their mother during a meeting in Adiala Jail, which jail authorities inspected and then provided to her according to the established rules and regulations.
Since December 2 last year, no family member has been able to meet Imran Khan. Under the prevailing jail manual and court orders, he is being provided specified facilities.
