Naqvi leaves for Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who returned from Tehran a couple of days ago after undertaking two back-to-back extensive visits of Iran, has now left for Saudi Arabia.Naqvi left for Makkah from Quetta where he had gone to examine the situation on the ground after Sunday’s explosion in Balochistan’s capital that caused huge a loss of life.

The interior minister chaired a high echelon meeting in Quetta, where he took stock of the law and order situation and terror activities in the province. Sources told The News/Jang here Monday that Mohsin Naqvi would perform Haj and would be returning on Saturday. He was warmly welcomed by Saudi authorities on arrival.

The sources said that Naqvi’s Saudi counterpart Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud had a meeting with him soon after his arrival in the holy city. It is likely that he would be meeting Saudi Prime Minister/Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman in Jeddah on Friday before returning to Islamabad, the sources added.
