ISLAMABAD: Several appointments, transfers and deputation extensions have been made in the federal bureaucracy. After approval by the prime minister, Amir Rana has been appointed as a member of the Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA) under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. His appointment has been made on a contract basis for a period of five years with immediate effect and until further orders.
The deputation period of Ghazala Shaheen Jamali, assistant professor at Islamiat College under the Sindh government’s Education Department and currently posted in the Federal Directorate of Education, has been extended for another two years.
Additional charge of director general of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority has been assigned to Muhammad Imran Khan Mohmand for a period of three months. Wajahat Mansoor has been appointed as director general in the Ministry of IT in MP-2 scale on a three-year contract. Meanwhile, Shumaila Shafqat, agriculture officer in the Agriculture Extension Department of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, has been posted on deputation to the Ministry of Law and Justice for three years.
Waqar Hussain, a BS-18 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service currently serving in the Punjab government, has been granted 360 days of overseas study leave. Finance Division deputy secretary Kamran Khan, a BS-19 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, has been granted one year leave without pay (EOL). He has been allowed 365 days of unpaid leave effective from April 20, 2026.
PIA deputy general manager Tariq Ahmed Ghauri has been posted as director (non-medical) in the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination on deputation. In another development, the services of Rani Hafsa Kanwal, deputy secretary in the Ministry of Power and a BS-18 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, have been transferred to the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
