DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Four members of a peace committee were martyred and another was kidnapped when terrorists attacked them near Attal Sharif in the restive Kulachi tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan, police and local sources said on Sunday.
Unidentified armed militants belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (Gandapur Group) ambushed members of a local peace committee near Kot Attal Sharif, within the jurisdiction of Hathala Police Station, and opened fire on them.
As a result of the attack, peace committee members Shah Zeb, Danish, Soli and another unidentified member were killed on the spot.
The assailants also abducted one committee member and took away the weapons of all the victims, sources added. The name of the kidnapped member of the committee could not be confirmed immediately.
