KARACHI: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), in collaboration with the Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the National Rural Support Programme (NRSP), organised a National Exporters Training Programme (NETP) in Hub aimed at strengthening exporters’ understanding of trade procedures and market access tools.
The event drew participants from chambers of commerce and industry, academia, non-governmental organisations, and government departments.
TDAP South Balochistan Director Asif Kakar delivered a presentation covering export procedures, documentation requirements and marketing strategies. Faisal Hussain briefed participants on the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) system and its practical applications for trade facilitation.
Other speakers included Ali Akber Zehri of the Fishermen Cooperative Society; Director Finance at the Lasbela Industrial Estate Development Authority (LIEDA) Gulzar Ahmed Gichki; and vice chairperson of the Municipal Corporation Hub.
They highlighted the importance of such capacity-building sessions and called for similar initiatives in the region, noting its potential as an emerging industrial hub, particularly in marble and handicrafts in southern Balochistan.
In his concluding remarks, Idrees Jalbani, assistant director and focal person for NETP at TDAP Karachi, recommended more frequent training sessions to enhance the capacity of new exporters and support their integration into international markets.
