RAWALPINDI: Participants of the National Security and Strategic Leadership Workshop 2026 at a special session expressed confidence that the country’s defence is in strong hands.

The DG ISPR held the special session with vice chancellors and senior faculty members from various universities. More than 200 vice chancellors, deans, registrars, and senior faculty members from universities across Pakistan participated in the workshop. Participants from Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Multan, and Quetta joined the National Security Workshop held in Rawalpindi through online platforms.

Director General ISPR Lt General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry discussed important matters related to the country’s internal situation, particularly security issues, with the participants during the workshop. Participants said the Pakistan Army has played a commendable role in the defence, stability, and security of the country. They said Pakistan achieved a great victory in Marka-e-Haq due to the armed forces. They were of the view that the people of Azad Kashmir and those in IIOJK take pride in the Pakistan Army. “ We received clear guidance on protecting students from negative propaganda and providing them with accurate information”, the participants said.

They noted that academia was given clear awareness regarding national security, information warfare, and the challenges facing the country. “This connection established between the armed forces and academia is the need of the hour,” participants emphasized and appreciated the ISPR initiative of bringing vice chancellors and academia together on one platform.
