PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) Director General Irum Naz on Tuesday conducted the third lucky draw of KPRA’s Consumer Rewards Scheme, selecting 50 winners through a transparent digital process.
A statement said that Collector Sales Tax on Services Muhammad Abbas Khan, Director Legal Naimatullah, Director Admin, HR and Coordination Asma Khyber, Director Inquiry, Investigation and Tax Audit Pir Muhammad Mehsud, and Director ICT Aftab Ahmad were also present on the occasion.
The KPRA chief conducted the lucky draw using specially developed software to ensure transparency in the selection process. Each winner will receive Rs10,000 from KPRA through a cheque.
The Consumer Rewards Scheme was launched by KPRA in February this year across four districts, including Peshawar, Mardan, Abbottabad, and Haripur, covering selected hotels and restaurants.
KPRA has already conducted two lucky draws under the scheme, while a cheque distribution ceremony was held last month at KPRA headquarters, where Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance Muzzammil Aslam distributed cheques among the winners.
A total of 264 invoices were received from April 16 to May 15 for the third lucky draw, from which 50 winners were selected.
Speaking on the occasion, KPRA chief congratulated the winners and said the initiative aims to encourage consumers to demand proper tax documentation and ensure that collected taxes are duly deposited into the government treasury.
She added that the fourth lucky draw under the ongoing scheme will be conducted next month, in which another 50 winners will receive prizes. Irum Naz emphasized that the public should actively participate in the scheme by sending invoices to KPRA and play a role in curbing tax evasion.
