KARACHI: Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan reported annual profit of Rs3.23 billion for MY26, up 19 per cent year-on-year (YoY), despite a sharp rise in finance costs that weighed on fourth-quarter earnings.

The company posted fourth-quarter profit of Rs1.01 billion, translating into earnings per share of Rs7.05, down 40 per cent from a year earlier but up 54 per cent quarter-on-quarter.

The company also announced a final cash dividend of Rs9 per share for the quarter.

According to analysis by Topline Securities, the result came in slightly below expectations due to higher-than-expected finance costs. Quarterly finance costs surged 2.7 times year-on-year and 69 per cent quarter-on-quarter to Rs936 million, taking annual finance costs to Rs2 billion, up 93 per cent from last year.

Net sales for the quarter rose 35 per cent YoY to Rs37 billion, driven by a 42 per cent increase in sales volumes to 8,058 units. Annual sales climbed 57 per cent to Rs122 billion, supported by a 61 per cent rise in volumes.

Gross margins stood at 7.5 per cent in the fourth quarter, compared with 10.1 per cent a year earlier, while annual gross margins eased to 7.8 per cent from 8.5 per cent in MY25. Other income jumped 2.4 times YoY to Rs890 million during the quarter.
