PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi agreed to take early measures for improvement in law and order situation across the province.
The agreement was reached as both met at the Governor’s House in Peshawar on Sunday to discuss the province’s law and order situation and other key administrative matters. The meeting was also attended by KP Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati, Information Minister Shafiullah Jan and Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah. Apart from other measures, the governor directed the chief secretary to review the salaries and allowances of police forces in other provinces and submit recommendations to the provincial government.
Both discussed the closure of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations in the province and the issue of wheat supply from Punjab.The governor termed the suspension of CNG services in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a violation of the Constitution, saying the closure of both CNG stations and wheat supply routes was badly affecting poor people across the province.
