LAHORE: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said that a 12% reduction in fatal accidents has been recorded this year. He remarked that thousands of precious lives are lost annually in Pakistan due to traffic accidents, and the mortality rate from road accidents exceeds many other causes of death. CTO Lahore shared this information while chairing a meeting of Traffic Police and Rescue officials on Saturday.

The meeting was attended by District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Lahore Dr Rizwan, divisional officers, and other relevant authorities. During the joint session, a detailed review was conducted regarding traffic accidents across the city, their causes, and possible preventive measures.
