8,000 wheat sacks seized in crackdown on hoarders

HAFIZABAD: Assistant Commissioner Narjis Khatoon Jafri carried out a major operation against illegal wheat hoarders and seized 8,000 sacks of stored wheat from rice mills in Jedke village.

Acting on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad Abdul Razzaq, the assistant commissioner, accompanied by officials of the Food Department and PERA Force personnel, raided the rice mills and sealed the godowns after recovering the illegally stored wheat.

According to the deputy commissioner, strict and indiscriminate action is being taken against wheat hoarders across the district. He added that special teams comprising district administration officials, the Food Department and para-force personnel have been formed to conduct operations in different areas.
