Wrong injection by quack claims life

LAHORE:A man died after allegedly being administered a wrong injection by a quack in the Shahdara Town area.The incident occurred after a resident of Shahdara Town called an unqualified practitioner to his home for treatment of his ailing father, identified as Lateef.

Police said the suspect administered medicines along with an injection to the patient. Soon after the injection, severe swelling developed in the victim’s arm, prompting family members to rush him to hospital. Doctors later informed the family that poison had spread through the body allegedly due to the incorrect injection. As the condition worsened, surgeons amputated the victim’s arm in an attempt to save his life, but he could not survive. Following the incident, police shifted the body for post-mortem examination and registered a case on the complaint of the deceased’s son.The suspect, described by police as a quack was arrested.

Two die in separate incidents

Two people lost their lives in separate incidents in different parts of the provincial capital on Friday. Sumiya, 15, died in a collision between a motorcycle rickshaw and an auto-rickshaw in the Begum Kot area of Shahdara late at night. In the second incident, Ahmad Raza, 32, died after falling from the Ring Road near Bahria Town in Sundar. He was reportedly suffering from a mental disability.
