FAISALABAD: The Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) on Wednesday said Pakistan could increase exports by up to five billion dollars in the current changing geopolitical situation for which the government will have to take immediate measures to restore the export ecosystem and provide consistent policy support to the industry.

Welcoming the government’s initiative to hold detailed consultations with representatives of the textile sector on budget proposals and industrial reforms, the PTEA Patron-in-Chief Khurram Mukhtar said they had informed Federal Minister for Finance Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani and other senior officials during meetings on Tuesday that the country’s top 30 exporters alone could immediately increase exports by two billion dollars, while another 4,000 exporters could collectively add three billion dollars in exports.
