ISLAMABAD: Former senator and Pakistan Rights Movement chief Mushtaq Ahmed Khan on Wednesday formally joined the Tehreek Tahaffuz Aiyeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP).
Mehmood Khan Achakzai, the opposition alliance chairman and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Allama Nasir Abbas, Leader of the Opposition in Senate, ex-senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, acting head of Sunni Ittehad Council Sahibzada Hassan Raza and spokesman for the TTAP welcomed Mushtaq on joining the opposition alliance.
During discussions, it was agreed that in the face of overall political, constitutional and democratic situation of the country, all democratic forces should unite and wage a united struggle for the supremacy of Constitution, stability of democracy, independence of parliament and the rule of law.
The leaders reiterated their resolve that the opposition alliance will continue its struggle for the protection of constitutional rights, respect for the public mandate and democratic values in the country and will continue to play its role in uniting all constitutional forces on one platform.
Achakzai said it had been decided to include the Pakistan Rights Movement in the opposition alliance.
