‘Drug dealer Nargis alias Malika’ arrested in Quaidabad

The Malir police on Wednesday carried out a major operation against a narcotics network and arrested a woman allegedly involved in supplying drugs to different upscale areas of the city as well as interior Sindh.

According to the police, the operation was conducted by the Quaidabad police station during a combing and search operation in the Swati Mohalla area near Khudadad Graveyard on the basis of intelligence information. The arrested suspect was identified as Nargis alias Malika, wife of Wakeel.

The police said the recovered high-quality hashish was estimated to be worth more than Rs6 million in the illegal market. During the raid, officers recovered 35 kilograms and 265 grams of premium-quality hashish along with more than Rs100,000 in cash from the scene.

According to investigators, the narcotics were intended to be supplied and sold in various parts of Karachi, including upscale neighbourhoods. The police said other members of the drug network were also active in different parts of the city and were involved in the supply and sale of narcotics.

Officials added that the operation dealt a major blow to the narcotics network, while raids were ongoing to arrest additional suspects linked to the gang. A case had been registered at the Quaidabad police station and further investigation was underway.
