RAWALPINDI: A brave citizen on Monday sacrificed his life while intercepting a suicide bomber in a bordering area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab and saved the local population from a disaster.

The martyred citizen, identified as Liaquat, intercepted the bomber near the inter-provincial border area of Jand and Khushal Garh Bridge, Kohat, security sources said. According to details, a suspicious individual (a Kharji terrorist) was advancing through the fields when Liaquat, a resident of Mankoor Village (Jand Tehsil of Attock District), questioned his identity.

The suicide bomber panicked and detonated his suicide jacket. As a result, Liaquat embraced martyrdom on the spot. He was a retired employee of Pakistan Railways. Initial reports suggest the terrorist intended to reach a sensitive check post located in the border area.

Liaquat’s timely intervention and bravery prevented a massive loss of life. This incident reflects the ongoing attempts by Kharji elements supported by the Afghan Taliban to target civilians and security personnel. However, the armed forces, police, and the brave citizens of Pakistan continue to stand firm against their nefarious designs. Brave citizens like him are the true assets to Pakistan, the security sources added.
