Alliance announces to stage peace march on 12th

LANDIKOTAL: The Bara Political Alliance on Wednesday announced that they would stage a peace march to highlight the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber district.

Addressing a press conference at the District Press Club Khyber, along with his colleagues, the Bara Political Alliance president Hashim Khan said that incidents of target killing and terrorism had become a routine that had created a sense of fear and insecurity among local residents.

He said that despite immense sacrifices rendered by the people of the tribal districts for the restoration of peace, the situation had not improved, and uncertainty continued to grip the area.

“The people of the merged districts have been suffering for decades due to militancy and conflict, but unfortunately, peace still remains elusive,” he opined.He announced that a peace march against worsening insecurity would be held in Peshawar on May 12 at the Sher Shah Suri Bridge. He urged the people of Khyber district, especially residents of Landikotal, to participate in large numbers and raise their voice for the restoration of a lasting peace.
