Job fair in Haripur attracts young people

HARIPUR: A job fair was arranged in Haripur to promote youth empowerment and skills development.

RankingGrow organised the event in collaboration with Metrix Pakistan, the Directorate of Youth Affairs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Haripur Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event drew over 1,500 students, professionals, and members of the business community, offering a broad spectrum of employment, internship, and training opportunities.According to the organisers, the job fair featured more than 50 job openings, over 200 internships, and upwards of 1,000 free training opportunities. A notable number of candidates were hired on the spot, reflecting the increasing demand for skilled individuals in digital and corporate sectors.

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including chief guest Babar Nawaz Khan.Other participants included Syeda Amina Gilani, Malik Umair Khalid, Syed Safdar Zaman Shah, and Waqar Ali.

Representatives of the district bar, religious scholars, government officials, academics, and members of the local business community also attended the event.Speaking during an open talk session, Ammad Ali welcomed the participants and congratulated the selected candidates, stressing the importance of practical skills in a competitive job market.

He said the initiative aimed to equip young people with hands-on skills to help them become job-ready and financially independent.“We believe that skills are the real strength of our youth. Through this platform, we want to bridge the gap between education and employment,” he said.

Ammad Ali added that under RankingGrow’s Vision 2030, the organisation plans to make at least 10,000 individuals job-ready and create sustainable employment opportunities. He noted that such efforts are key to reducing unemployment and promoting entrepreneurship.

Babar Nawaz Khan appreciated the initiative and assured support for youth-focused programmes in Haripur, stating that empowering young people through skills and employment remained a priority.

Syeda Amina Gilani highlighted the growing importance of digital skills in the modern economy and outlined ongoing initiatives by the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission across the country. She expressed interest in collaborating with RankingGrow to further strengthen skill development efforts in the region.

Malik Umair Khalid lauded the initiative and assured support from the business community, emphasising the need for stronger collaboration between private sector institutions and training organisations.

Other speakers, including Syed Safdar Zaman Shah, District Bar President Saeed Khan, and District Khateeb Abdul Majeed, also praised the initiative and expressed support for similar programmes aimed at youth development.
