On the directives of Sindh Food Minister Makhdoom Mehboob-uz-Zaman, the scope of inspections across government wheat warehouses throughout the province has been further expanded to ensure strict monitoring of the stocks of the essential food commodity.

Joint operations with anti-corruption authorities have also been accelerated. The primary objective of these measures is to ensure transparency in official wheat stocks, prevent pilferage and safeguard public resources at all costs. Zaman made it clear that corruption or malpractice at any level within the food department would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He said that strict and indiscriminate action is being taken under a zero-tolerance policy against officers and personnel found involved in wheat theft or irregularities.

He also said that in warehouses where incidents of alleged wheat theft or misappropriation have been reported, strong departmental and legal action is under way against those responsible. These actions aim to ensure that no individual dares to cause loss to national resources in future.

Zaman emphasised that the provincial government is taking practical steps to ensure the provision of affordable and adequate wheat and flour to the public. He said that the ongoing campaign against hoarding, mismanagement and corruption is being further strengthened.

He said that in line with the directives of the chief minister, strict implementation of the principles of good governance, transparency and accountability is being ensured. All the relevant departments remain fully active to eliminate any possibility of negligence or corruption, he added.

He also highlighted that in accordance with the vision of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, public service, transparent governance and the protection of national resources are among the top priorities of the government.

He said the party leadership has issued clear instructions that any action against public interest would not be tolerated. In continuation of these efforts, joint teams are actively conducting field monitoring, and more effective and stringent measures are expected in the coming days, he added.
