ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced an extensive national training camp to fine-tune preparations for the upcoming FIH Pro League.

The camp, set to be staged at the National Hockey Stadium Lahore, will run from May 4 (tomorrow) to June 6, serving as the final build-up phase before Pakistan’s crucial Pro League assignments in Belgium and England from June 13 to June 28.

All selected players and officials have been instructed to report to the head coach at the PSB Coaching Center Lahore by 5:00 PM on May 4. Players have also been directed to ensure full compliance with travel and administrative requirements, including valid passports, departmental NOCs, photographs and official playing kits.

In a strong administrative backing, the PHF has formally requested all departments and sports boards to treat the participation of players and officials as “on duty” from May 3 to June 30, ensuring uninterrupted focus on national duty. A large and diverse pool of talent has been summoned, reflecting PHF’s intent to build depth and competition across all departments.

Among the goalkeepers, the spotlight will be on Muneeb-ur-Rehman, Ali Raza, Waqar and Abdullah Ishtiaq Khan, alongside a mix of emerging and seasoned custodians.

The defensive unit boasts an imposing lineup featuring Sufyan Khan, Imad Butt, Abubakar Mehmood and Abdul Manan, among others, forming the backbone of Pakistan’s structure.
