LAHORE: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its annual update of team rankings, with Australia maintaining dominance at the top of both Men’s Test and Women’s ODI tables. For Pakistan, the update brought encouraging news in the men’s format, as they climbed to sixth place, overtaking Sri Lanka.

Australia strengthened their lead in the Men’s Test Rankings, rising to 131 points, 12 clear of South Africa (119). India (104) edged past England (102) into third place, while New Zealand (101) remain close behind in fifth.

The most notable movement came from Pakistan, who improved from 82 to 89 points, moving up to sixth place. This rise was largely due to the removal of their 3-0 home defeat to England in 2022–23 from the calculations and the halving of their 2-0 loss to Bangladesh in 2024. Sri Lanka slipped to seventh with 86 points.
