MINGORA: A former member of a peace committee was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Segram area of Kabal tehsil in Swat, police officials said on Monday.
They said that the victim was identified as Sedray, son of Chamney, and had previously served as a member of the local peace committee.
He was targeted in a firing incident by unknown gunmen, resulting in his death on the spot.The police officials said that the attackers managed to flee after the incident, while the body was shifted to a hospital for legal formalities.
Soon after the incident, the law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area, began collecting evidence, and launched a search operation to apprehend the accused.
