A man was shot dead by armed assailants in the Sachal neighbourhood, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred near Jauhar Complex within the jurisdiction of Sacchal Police Station, where unidentified gunmen opened fire, killing a man on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was identified as 40-year-old Rashid, son of Bashir.
The police said initial investigations suggested the killing appeared to be the result of personal enmity. Authorities further revealed that the victim’s brother had entered into a love marriage, which was opposed by the bride’s family. Investigators suspected that the girl’s relatives might have been involved in the shooting.
According to the victim’s brother, the deceased was allegedly shot by suspects identified as Zameer Hussain, son of Ahmed Khan, and Muhammad Ali, son of Ahmed Khan. The oolice said the victim was a resident of Ramzan Society and worked as a labourer.
