LAHORE:Nawab Town Police have arrested a tractor-trolley driver and his accomplice for their alleged involvement in a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of a man and left his family injured.
The incident occurred earlier this week on Canal Road, where a tractor-trolley collided with a motorcycle carrying a family. As a result, a man identified as MImran, reportedly associated with a sensitive institution, died, while his wife and two children sustained injuries. Police registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s wife and launched an investigation. Police arrested the suspects from Chiniot. The arrested suspects were identified as Arif and Tufail.
Ravi Road Police have arrested the main suspect,identified as Saeed, involved in an acid attack on an elderly man during an attempted robbery.
The incident came to light after CCTV footage showed a motorcyclist throwing acid on the victim. SP City Atif Ameer said the suspect was clearly visible in the footage, prompting an immediate investigation. Investigators revealed that the victim, an employee of a private company working as a cashier, was on his way to deposit approximately Rs2 million in a bank at the time of the attack. The suspect had allegedly conducted surveillance on the victim for nearly a week prior to the incident During the attack, the victim sped away after acid was thrown at him, preventing the suspect from snatching the cash.
Meanwhile, Manawan Police arrested a suspect accused of injuring a man in a firing incident. The incident took place in the Manawan area, where a citizen identified as Adil was shot and wounded while travelling on a motorcycle. He was shifted to a hospital. Police said they launched action and arrested the nominated suspect, identified as Shahid Ameen. A case was registered against the suspect.
Police have registered a case over the alleged abduction of a driver associated with an online taxi service in the Garhi Shahu area.
The missing man was identified as Naveed. The case was lodged at the Garhi Shahu Police Station on the complaint of his wife, Christina. The FIR states that Naveed had left home for work a few days ago but did not return.
