LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has upgraded the Reservation Office at its Headquarters to provide passengers with improved, comfortable, and modern facilities.

The initiative aimed to enhance the efficiency of the ticketing system and deliver quality services to the public.Under this upgradation, the Reservation Office has been completely renovated and furnished with a modern and elegant interior design.

Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi will inaugurate the upgraded reservation office in a few days.To facilitate passengers, 15 well-organised ticketing counters have been established, including dedicated counters for ladies, gents, and senior citizens. Additionally, a separate information desk has been set up to assist and guide passengers. The office is now fully air-conditioned, with a seating capacity for 30 persons.

Promoting the use of technology, two self-ticketing machines, similar to those at airports, have also been installed, enabling passengers to obtain tickets conveniently on their own. Keeping in view modern requirements, a Qmatic (token) system—similar to those used in banks and multinational organisations—has been installed to ensure organised and timely service delivery.

Other facilities include separate ladies’ and gents’ washrooms with modern sanitary systems, installation of a security camera system, and provision of free Wi-Fi for customers. New and high-quality furniture has also been provided for reservation staff, supervisory officials, and passengers. This initiative by Pakistan Railways will not only provide improved facilities to passengers but will also bring greater transparency, efficiency, and speed to the ticketing system.
