Loralai DIG says terror plot foiled; explosives, arms seized

QUETTA: DIG Loralai Range Junaid Ahmed Sheikh has said that the police have foiled a major terrorist plan and seized a large quantity of explosive material during an operation.

DIG Loralai Range, accompanied by SSP Loralai Dr. Fahad Ahmed, disclosed during a press conference that the police acted swiftly on a tip-off and successfully thwarted a major terrorism plot.

He said that during a successful operation conducted in the Pori Tuk Pahaar area, police recovered explosive material that had been hidden for use in terrorist activities. The seized items included 10 kilograms of TNT, 8 kilograms of black explosive, four IEDs (two small and two large), 11 detonators, six meters of safety fuse, 165 rounds of SMG ammunition, one kilogram of ball bearings, and 11 meters of detonating cord.

DIG Junaid Ahmed Sheikh said that the police have always played a frontline role in the fight against terrorism and will continue fulfilling their responsibilities to maintain law and order. He added that with public cooperation, operations against such elements would be made more effective to ensure lasting peace in the region.
